Porn Studies is published by Routledge and is edited by Professor Feona Attwood of Middlesex University, Dr Giovanna Maina and Professor Clarissa Smith of the University of Sunderland. We are supported by an international editorial board including: Constance Penley, Lynn Comella, Martin Barker, Susanna Paasonen and Alan McKee.

Our first (double) issue was published March 2014 and received phenomenal interest – more than 22,000 views on its first weekend!

With the mainstreaming of the sex industry, pornography is ripe for being interrogated for what it tells us about contemporary constructions of sexuality. So much is assumed about pornography, yet what is known, before now, has been scattered across the scholarly universe. This journal brings research on pornography to one place, not only promising a dramatic increase in the pace of scholarship, but promising to open pornography to further interrogation by scholars skilled in critical sexuality studies and able to place pornography at the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality, ability and age inequalities. This will be a great addition to a growing field!
